Apple Donuts are a family favorite in our house — particularly for our nearly 4 year-old daughter. With far fewer calories and fat than a traditional donut, Apple Donuts are packed full of fiber, protein and yes… a little chocolate sweetness as well.
- One apple (washed)
- Peanut butter (or nut butter of choice)
- Chocolate chips
- Dried cranberries
Wash and dry the apple. Cut the apple in 1/8-1/4 inch slices. I then take a knife and carefully cut the seeds out of the center, which makes the apple start to really look like a donut.
Place a thin layer of peanut butter on top of each apple slice.
Carefully put your favorite toppings on. Our favorites are chocolate chips, oats and dried cranberries.
